Selena Gomez Reveals Her Acting and Music Plans!

Selena Gomez looks to the future talking what’s next for her acting and music careers. While promoting her new film Rudderless, Selena told E!, “At the beginning of the year, I posted a picture for a secret project and that time is coming, I'm so excited. It's music-related and I'm very, very excited. It will be very, very soon.”
So this could mean a new single, album, music video or collaboration. The possibilities are endless. But although Selena is juicing up to do something musically, she isn’t leaving her acting roots behind. She tells E! “I've been auditioning like crazy. They are totally two different worlds. You're literally begging just to get into a room [for acting], at least for me. Then with music, they're like, 'Come on over!’ I'm trying to balance that as best as I can, but hopefully there will be some movie stuff in the beginning of the year."
As far as the rumors swirling around a Spring Breakers sequel, Selena confirmed that a follow up will definitely not be happening. But coincidentally, it was actually Selena’s performance in Spring Breakers that caught the attention of her Rudderless director, William H. Macy. Rudderless is said to show a different side of Selena then we are accustomed to seeing and really showcases her versatility as an actress. In the film, Selena plays the girlfriend of a young man who is killed in a school shooting. When speaking on the heavy content of the film, Selena said QUOTE - "I had to take some moments to myself for sure, but it was also the first time I got experience having an actor direct. He knows exactly how to keep the mood a little bit steady. So there was constant music on the set…It was very quiet but I think everybody made me feel really comfortable with certain uncomfortable words. It was good. I got lucky with them." Looking to the future, Selena says that she wants to take on more roles that are outside of her comfort zone.
When speaking about the added pressure of type casting she has experienced from casting directors Selena told E!, "I feel like there's an added pressure when they already think that they know you so when I walk into a room to audition for something that is completely different than what they think, it's a whole added thing to it. That kind of stresses me out sometimes, but it's alright.”
Selena’s new film Rudderless will be released in theatres as well as on VOD on Oct 17th.
