SPICY SQUID NOODLES in PENANG MALAYSIA - Mee Sotong PENANG FOOD | Food and Travel Channel

We sample some spicy mee sotong or squid noodles in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. We visit Hameed 'Pata' Mee Sotong to eat their famous mee sotong.

We eat a mee sotong and a mee rebus. The mee sotong is a dish made up of wok tossed noodles coated in a fiery sambal sauce. It's topped with sambal sotong (squid), a sprinkling of fried shallots and spring onion, egg, tofu and a wedge of lime. The mee rebus is made up of a sweet potato gravy, hard boiled egg, sambal sotong, noodles, tofu, sweet potato and dough fritters. Both are delicious but the mee sotong is the winner on the day with the noodles containing a more definite sweet but fiery kick. Definitely a plate of noodles worth eating!
