Michael Jackson’s Thriller could not be more perfect for this. The moment the trailer dropped it spread like wildfire through the internet, and the Twitter reactions are proving that Season 2 has the potential to be one of the most binge-watched shows on Netflix of all time.
One user joked QUOTE, “brb going into hibernation until Halloween so I can watch Stranger Things 2”, and another wrote enthusiastically in all caps QUOTE, “THE STRANGER THINGS COMMERCIAL WAS SO WOWWWW IV NEVER BEEN MORE EXCITED FOR SOMETHING.” Another fan said it best when they shared the infamous Winona Ryder looking confused meme, along with the caption QUOTE, “all stranger things fans in the next few weeks trying to decipher every square inch of the season 2 trailer”. While some parts of the trailer are pretty easy to analyze--like the fact that Will Byers is clearly still being affected by the Upside Down, others are going to take some deeper sleuthing, like why is Sean Astin’s character running down a hallway while wearing scrubs? One thing we’re definitely certain of, however, is there will be justice for Barb this time, dammit! Mostly because the fans will revolt if there isn’t, and surely the Duffer Brothers know that.
