The first teaser for Stranger Things season 2 aired during the Superbowl and we have a release date!
If you’re like me, you can’t wait for Stranger Things to return, but holy forever we have to wait until October.
Some people watch the Superbowl for the game, but let’s be real, the commercials are a close second best and when the Stranger Things trailer came on, you couldn’t help but put down your guac and give the tv your full attention.
The trailer teased us with Eggos, Ghostbuster outfits, a really scary monster, and the message that the world is turning upside down. Take a look:
The trailer raises so many questions. First of all, we see eleven so we know she’s alive even though the Demogorgan engulfed her at the end of season 1, then we Will strapped to what looks like an examination table with his mom by his side. Remember that dude started having weird visions at the end of season 1 so maybe he’s getting checked out to see what exactly is going on with him. We also see the gang rocking ghostbusters outfits which doesn’t really mean anything but it’s adorable. But the real question is what the heck was that monster that popped up at the end outside? That thing is huge, and ten times bigger than the monster they were fighting in season 1. It looks like the problem of the upside down has spread from just inside of Will’s wall and that random forest tree to something that could put the whole town in danger. In fact, the co-creator of the show Matt Duffer told EW QUOTE - "In season one, Will is in danger. And season two, it's the town. The stakes escalate in that way." Yikes, it’s definitely going to be epic but we have to wait sooo long. Season 2 premieres on Halloween, which feels like a lifetime away, but I get it, the show has scary undertones so Halloween is fitting, whatever.
But that aside, you have to the stranger things cast’s reaction to seeing their trailer during the superbowl. It’s adorable.
Noah Schnapp who plays Will, posted the video on instagram with the caption – “Fun video of us seeing the Season 2 teaser!!!” First of all, love the reaction. 2nd of all how flippin cute is it that they were all watching the superbowl together? I really hope eggos were included in their snack assortment.
Anyway, I want to hear your reactions to the season 2 teaser so sound off in the comment section below. Thanks for watching Clevver News, I’m your host Drew Dorsey and I’ll see you next time.
