Taylor Swift CAST in 'Cats' Film Adaptation with James Corden & Jennifer Hudson

Cats is one of the most successful broadway musicals of all time, and now it’s coming to the big screen. And following in the footsteps of other successful musicals adapted into films, such as Les Miserables and Mama Mia!, Cats is set to feature and incredibly impressive all-star cast.
Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, James Corden and Ian McKellen are all set to star in the film, which will be directed by Les Miserables helmer, Tom Hooper. Production on the film is set to begin later this year in the U.K., which is definitely good news for Taylor and British boyfriend Joe Alwyn.
While we don’t know who Taylor, James, or Sir Ian will be playing in the film just yet, Jennifer Hudson will take on the role of Grizabella, a QUOTE, “former ‘glamour cat’ who falls on hard times and gets to sing about it in showstopper ‘Memory.’”
Cats was composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and follows the story of a tribe of cats known as the “Jellicles”.
As for Taylor, this will be her biggest film role to date. She previously had small roles in the films ‘Valentine’s Day’ and ‘The Giver’, but considering this is a musical, it’s probably safe to assume that Cats will let her explore her acting talents even more. And even though Taylor doesn’t have a ton of acting experience, she does have a ton of experience with cats thanks to her own fur babies, Meredith and Olivia, and we’re sure they’ll be happy to give her some pointers.
