The Season 7 finale of the Voice serenaded America last night and we have a winner.
Spoiler alert in case you’re in finals right now and are waiting to watch the finale on DVR once you get home, I’m about to give you a recap of everything that went down.
Lots of excitement and killer performances last night including appearances by Bruno Mars, Meghan Trainor, Fall Out Boy, Jessie J, Jennifer Hudson, the judges, and of course all of the contestants. But only one could reign supreme and if you were team Blake, you were very pleased with the results because Craig Wayne Boyd took it home. Following Craig, Matt finished 2nd, with Chris in 3rd and Damien in 4th.
But really everyone was a winner last night because after the finale aired, Craig, Chris, and Matt all had songs in iTunes’ top 5 with Matt’s “Wasted Love” hitting the number one spot.
Of course with every Voice finale, everyone waits in anticipation to find out the winner, but first viewers get to sit through some killer performances. Grammy nominees and winners were in the house like Jennifer Hudson who put her amazing mutant lungs on display alongside Damien, Fall Out Boy performed with Matt, Chris killed it with Jessie J singing “Masterpiece” off her new album, and Mark got to rock out with the always electric Bruno Mars. By the way, Bruno was rocking more than music. Dude had gold curlers in his hair. It was pretty perfect.
In addition, Meghan Trainor took the stage with her chart topping hit, “Lips Are Movin,” the girls of the Voice killed with their performance of “Bang Bang,” and even the judges gifted the audience with a Christmas treat performing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and proved to everyone why they are the ones sitting in those spinning red chairs.
We also got to see the judges in some fun vignettes that were shown throughout the show. It was one heck of a finale.
