We are officially obsessed with Carmel’s food- it's freaking amazing that Tāmaki Makaurau Aucklanders have access to freshly baked Israeli breads and sweet treats like pita, challah and rugelach ????
We eat:
Mini challah | these wee traditional, plaited Jewish breads are pillowy, have a hint of sweetness and toast up beautifully. We halved and toasted them in a warm pan with butter for our chicken schnitzel sandwiches | $14 (for 6)
Rugelach | this crescent shaped pastry is filled with chocolate, cinnamon and cocoa- sticky and not too sweet. They resemble croissants but the pastry is dense like a bun rather than flaky like a croissant. Yum, yum, yum. | $18 (for 8)
Total $32 (plus $10 for shipping otherwise you can pick up from their shop)
