Uzo Aduba and William H. Macy are awarded for their craft at the 2015 SAG Awards, taking home THE awards for Outstanding Performance by a male and female actor in a comedy series.
Hey everyone, welcome to Clevver’s Trophy Life where we bring you ALL the highlights and gush worthy moments throughout award show season!
After nine nominations, William H Macy finally got to take a well-deserved strut to the stage to accept his Actor, for his work in Shameless- beating out other nominees including Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet, Louis CK, and Jim Parsons.
William gave a hilarious acceptance speech and signed off with an adorable shout out to his wife Felicity Huffman saying- “Flicka, I love going to bed with you, too.”
Winning in the adjoining category for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series, was none other than Ms. Uzo Aduba… ALSO known as the comedic genius that is Crazy Eyes IN Orange is the New Black.
Uzo’s speech was definitely a gusher, Filled with truly genuine gratitude, leaving no eye in the Shrine Auditorium dry.
Just as in William’s category, Uzo had some stiff competition beating out fellow nominees Julie Bowen, Edie Falco, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Amy Poehler.
Orange is the New Black was in fact THE ticket that earned Uzo her SAG card, so ONE can only imagine the emotional rollercoaster that she took a ride on as she made her way to that stage. It wasn’t long before she returned as minutes after she accepted her Actor; the cast of Orange is the New Black won Outstanding Performance by AN ensemble in a Comedy Series.
