After 18 years, R&B group Xscape returned to the stage and performed some of their biggest hits at the BET awards last night. Today’s episode of News Feed is brought to you by Pandora Premium, where you can search and play your favorite songs. Pandora: sounds like you.
Xscape is back and they had quite the triumphant return.
If you’re on the younger side of the millennial spectrum, you may not be as familiar with Xscape, but they were everything back in the day. Xscape had three consecutive platinum albums and six top 10 hits on the Billboard charts in the 90s so the nostalgia was real when they made their return last night after 18 years.
The younger generation may recognize Kandi Buruss in the group who is now one of the stars of the Real Housewives of Atlanta who is also a very successful songwriter with TLC’s “No Scrubs” and Destiny’s Child’s “Bills, Bills, Bills” under her writing credits. You may also recognize Tameka Harris aka Tiny who was married to T.I. The groups reunion at the BET awards had the audience on their feet and glowing with pride as they reminisced on the groups greatest hits singing every word. Xscape performed “Understanding, “Who Can I Run To,” and “Just Kickin’ It.” And this reunion performance is only the beginning. LaTocha, Tamika, Tiny, and Kandi are reuniting for a comeback tour and have landed a 4-part docuseries on Bravo called Xscape: Still Kickin’ It set to air this fall. So I want to hear from you guys.
