The 2017 People’s Choice Awards have come and gone, but not before making it a night to remember for everyone in attendance.
History was made at the 2017 People’s Choice Awards and if you missed it, well, what the heck were you doing, people?!
It was a big night for those who were nominated, but an even bigger night for the celebrities who won, like Ellen DeGeneres. Not only does she already have a ton of achievements and awards under her belt, the queen of daytime television made history yet again by being the only person to win the most People’s Choice Awards. And that number, my friends, is 20. Twenty awards from the PCAs alone.
To add on to all of her previous wins, Ellen won three awards tonight. Those three included Favorite Daytime TV Host, Favorite Animated Movie Voice, and Favorite Comedic Collaboration.
And of course, being the amazing person that she is, the talk show host made sure to also thank animals in her endearing speech.
Another highlight of the night comes from Ellen’s peer in comedy, Melissa McCarthy. Like every winner, after Melissa was announced as the winner of the Favorite Comedic Movie Actress award, she got up on stage and basically admitted that she’s gotten into some…physical altercations with some of the other actresses in her category.
I guess Sookie St. James ain’t one to be messed with in the streets of Hollywood… But the remainder of the night was full of even more hilarious acceptance speeches. Not only did Melissa McCarthy make us all laugh with her “confession,” Justin Timberlake also made us all giggle after he thanked his two favorite people in the world aka Jessica Biel and Silas and then made this threat to the couple’s nanny....
