Wrestler John Cena hosted this year’s Kids Choice Awards at the Galen Center in Los Angeles. The first big moment of the show happened during the first award of the night when Ellen Degeneres hit us with a dose of her infectious positivity. In her acceptance speech after winning three blimps the TV host redefined what it means to be in a “squad”. Ellen had the entire audience raise their hands in the air and take an oath to be in her squad reciting, “I am good enough just like I am. I am supposed to be unique and different...I promise to be kind to people. I love you all you’re in my squad!”
Our second best moment is from someone in Taylor Swift’s famous squad. Camila Cabello and Machine Gun Kelly performed their hit song “Bad Things” in Camila’s first award show performance without Fifth Harmony.
After that performance you may think your eyes are playing tricks on you but we can assure you our next moment is the real deal. A fresh faced Demi Lovato was unknowingly served an aggressive amount of SLIME while promoting her new movie Smurfs: The Lost Village... and Demi’s reaction was priceless!
Even though host John Cena set out to prove he’s not only the best wrestler but the best host, he challenged the cast of Nicky Ricky Dicky & Dawn to an arm wrestling contest! Lizzy Greene was the unlucky one chosen for the contest but in a major plot twist- she won!
When it was Kevin Hart’s turn to give an acceptance speech after winning Favorite Villain, he brought his adorable kids up on stage with him. That’s when this moment happened.
nd then, naturally, THIS happened.
We gotta hand it to the Kids Choice Awards, they didn’t miss the opportunity to poke fun at the recent Oscars Best Picture mix up. When Henry Danger star Jace Norman accepted the orange blimp for Favorite Kids’ Show he stopped mid-speech to announce that Moonlight had actually won- UM SAY WHAT?!
