One of our fave moments was Jacob Tremblay’s adorable acceptance speech for his Best Young Actor award.
Literally no one could handle how cute he was. As for the funniest moments of the night, TJ Miller did a hilarious reading of the worst review he ever got for his stand up, while Judd Apatow gave such a funny introduction to Amy Schumer for her MVP award that he left us wishing he was hosting the whole show (no offense, TJ!). The funnyman and director praised Amy for having a bigger year than Star Wars director JJ Abrams, and also called out the Golden Globes for nominating The Martian as a comedy. He even went on to compare himself to a nerd on a playground and Matt Damon to a bully who stole his milk money. Amy Schumer also gave out not one but two hysterical speeches when she won the MVP award and when she won for Best Actress in a Comedy.
She joked about how easy it was to persuade Trainwreck director Judd Apatow to make a movie with her, and how actresses who have a belly have to write their own stuff if they want to work. She gave us a ton of laughs but also took a moment to get serious when she made a touching shoutout to end gun violence.
Another one of the best moments of the night was when BB-8 came out to make a cameo during John Kroll’s speech for special effects company Industrial Light Magic winning the Genius Award.
While the whole night was filled with memorable moments, our award for THE best OMG moment of the night definitely goes to Christian Bale, when he then planted two huge kisses on his Big Short director Adam McKay after he won the Best Actor in a Comedy award.
