Amy Schumer has had one heck of a year and the Critic’s Choice Awards made it clear by giving her the MVP award.
Amy was met with a standing ovation and rightfully deserved. In just one year she had a HBO Special, an ARENA tour, she hosted the MTV Movie Awards, opened for Madonna, was a QG cover girl, won a Peabody and Emmy award, wrote, produced, and starred in her FIRST film Trainwreck, and not to mention her critically acclaimed show, Inside Amy Schumer on Comedy Central is a mega success. This woman slayed this year and has the trophies to show for it. Not only was she honored with the MVP award at tonight’s show, but she also won Best Comedy Actress for Trainwreck.
In addition to thanking the critics, Amy thanked Comedy Central and the whole crew at Inside Amy Schumer noting that they go out to drink every Friday but have yet to have sex with each other. Sounds like a win win situation. She also thanked Universal, her co-star Bill Hader, her family, and her bud Judd Apatow who she credits for making Trainwreck a reality.
Needless to say, her speech was hilarious including this moment:
She kept the crowd laughing but ended on a serious note by shouting out the victims who lost their lives in the Lafayette theater shooting.
