There’s only 33 days (count em down) until we finally get Riverdale season 2, and full disclosure, we are openly desperate to find out literally anything about what’s coming.
Last week we told you guys about how Vanessa Morgan is joining the cast as Toni Topaz, where she’ll play the first openly bisexual character on Riverdale and she’ll be a part of the Southside Serpent crew. Obviously we’re super excited to see how the whole gang reacts to Toni, but as you can imagine - a handful of shall we say overly passionate Riverdale fans that are worried Toni might cause problems between Jughead and Betty – took it WAY too far by sending Vanessa death threats. I mean guys come on….
We haven’t really learned a ton about what season 2 may hold, so there are TONS of rumors like a potential Supergirl/ Riverdale crossover and that Sabrina the Teenage Witch might be joining the cast. There are so many what-if’s that we don’t even know what to believe.
Thankfully, Cole answered our prayers and hosted a Reddit AMA where he answered all of our most burning questions.
When he was asked about what it’s like for Jughead to no longer be an outsider he said “Season 1 has been described to us by the creative team as very much an "origin story" for all the citizens of Riverdale. Jughead's objection with interfering as part of Season 1 is the thing that will change the most. His fear of interaction is now something he has to face firsthand, and with it, his eventual understanding that his actions will always piss one person off. His "don't-care attitude," which we get more of in Season 2, is very "digest Jughead."
We are happy to know that we won’t lose Jughead’s sarcasm and cynical outlook on life in season 2, and even more happy to learn that the cast is just as friendly off-screen as they are on the show. Cole said that “Riverdale is a pretty welcoming cast and crew, and I know first hand that coming into an already established professional machine can be intimidating. Everyone seems to be finding the rhythm...Reggie finds a much more comic-faithful take in Season 2 that is already a lot of fun.”
More Reggie, some MORE new characters AND a more complex script?! MORE is MORE people. I’m so into this.
What do you think about all the new season 2 details? Are you excited to see how Jughead evolves and faces his fears? Let us know in the comments below and then click here to see all the K.J Apa and Cole Sprouse bromance moments that have kept us living in between the seasons. I’m Joslyn Davis, thanks for tuning in.
