The full-length track list for the upcoming Fifty Shades Darker film’s soundtrack has just been unchained and released to the public, and it might be giving the original a run for Grey’s money.
We thought we’d gotten quite a treat when Zayn and Taylor dropped their Fifty Shades collab, but just wait ‘til you see what else is in store…
Although many strong opinions circulated surrounding the acting, the story line and the borderline-abusive-sex scenes featured in the first Fifty Shades of Grey film released in 2015, one opinion was, in fact, unanimous: the movie’s soundtrack was pure FIRE.
Many fans were pleased to see many of their favorite artists grace the track list, like Ellie Goulding, The Weeknd, a remix from Beyonce, the Rolling Stones and even contributions from Annie Lennox. But the film’s musical selection may have just outdone itself the second time around as Entertainment Weekly exclusively revealed the entire 19-track list for the world to see.
We’ve already fallen head over heels for Zayn and Taylor Swift’s sultry collab hit “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever”, but we’re also about to score new sounds from Halsey, Tove Lo, Sia, Kygo, The-Dream, John Legend and another collaboration between Nick Jonas and Nicki Minaj. Many fans were also quick to notice that Nick and Nicki’s collab, called “Bom Bidi Bom” is oddly similar to the late Selena Quintanilla’s smash hit “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom”, so there may be an epic remix tribute to look forward to.
Four-time Oscar nominee Danny Elfman, who worked on the first Fifty Shades soundtrack and wrote the score for the film, is also featured twice on the track list with two songs of his own. And due to the rapid success of the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack and its massive opening weekend coming in at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, also obtaining the biggest sales debut for a soundtrack Michael Jackson’s This Is It in 2009, we can only assume Fifty Shades Darker will follow right in its path to the top of the charts.
Fans will be able to preorder the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack THIS FRIDAY, but it will be released for purchase the same day as the film drops in theaters on February 10th.
So Fifty Shades fans prepare yourselves to be mind-blown come the soundtrack’s release, and maybe even the movie, if you’re into that kinda thing, but right now I’m curious to know all your thoughts on the track list, and who you’re most excited to see, so get to talking right down here in the comments and after that, click right over here to check out all the best dressed from Sunday’s Golden Globes and don’t forget that Dirty Laundry and Rumor Patrol will be moving to SUNDAYS so mark your calendars.
