Gigi Hadid is making history as the first-ever cover model for Vogue Arabia
Gigi is just the girl to debut Vogue Arabia and, no surprise, she looks incredible!
Dressed in a bejeweled head scarf, Gigi Hadid graces the first official cover for Vogue Arabia. Although Gigi is no stranger to Vogue, this particular cover hits close to home, since G is half Palestinian. Her father, Mohamed Hadid is Palestinian, while her mother, Real Housewives’ Yolanda Hadid is Dutch.
Gigi took to her insta to share the cover writing QUOTE:
"Being half-Palestinian, it means the world to me to be on the first-ever cover(s) of @voguearabia, and I hope that this magazine will show another layer of the fashion industry's desire to continue to accept, celebrate, and incorporate all people & customs and make everyone feel like they have fashion images and moments they can relate to... & learn and grow in doing so."
Gigi’s pride in her roots is nothing new for the supermodel who has always been quick to stand up for her heritage. In 2015, she shared photos of her hands covered in Henna saying QUOTE “"Before you go all 'cultural appropriation' in my comments, check out the last name," she captioned the post. "Hadid. Half Palestinian & proud of it."
As she should be. Gigi has been slaying the supermodel game for quite some time, so hopefully we’ll see more of her in upcoming issues of Vogue Arabia.
