Katy Perry Teams Up With Calvin Harris On New Song & Internet Reacts

Katy Perry may have warned the haters not to come for her, so is her new collab her response to a past feud we know all too well?
The second Calvin Harris released an announcement of his forthcoming album Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 earlier today featuring a number of collaborations, one in particular stood out to fans. Among many artists including Frank Ocean, Ariana Grande, Migos, Pharrell, Travis Scott, John Legend and Nicki Minaj to name a few, many were quick to notice Katy Perry’s name as one of the chosen ones.
Naturally, the internet went into panic mode considering both Calvin and Katy’s rocky past with Taylor Swift, as a means of the two artists seeking revenge on Taylor. But just to play a quick game of catchup, following Katy and Taylor’s feud many years ago and Calvin and Taylor’s amicable breakup-gone-south, the controversy continued over Taylor’s writing credit for Calvin’s song “This Is What You Came For” when Katy sent out a shady tweet, saying, “Time, the ultimate truth teller.”
And with Katy’s new album release on the horizon, many have been wondering if there would be a “Bad Blood” response track. Katy recently stated in an interview that QUOTE, “I think my new album is a very empowered record. There is no one thing that’s calling out any one person. One thing to note is: You can’t mistake kindness for weakness and don’t come for me. Anyone. And that’s not to any one person and don’t quote me that it is, because it’s not.”
Many fans, on the other hand, seem to think that Katy becoming involved with Calvin’s new album is “better than revenge” as Taylor would say, as one fan tweeted QUOTE, “Katy Perry said her album does not have a diss record targeting Taylor Swift and Bad Blood. So she got on a Calvin Harris track. Yahhhhhhhh” while another wrote, “Wonder what Calvin Harris and Katy Perry talked about in the studio lol” followed by the tea emoji.
But this does mark Katy and Calvin’s first project together, so it could very well be that the two artists simply wanted to join forces for a new track and nothing more than that… but what do you guys think?
