Katy Perry UNVEILS Makeover & New Song Details - Confirmed To Perform At 2017 Grammys

And not only is Katy back on the music map, BUT she’s even set to make a big ‘Roar’ come the Grammys.
KATY CATS UNITE because KP is officially back! After taking a break from all things music since her last album release in 2013, and her single “Rise” last year, dedicated to the 2016 Summer Olympics, a brand new photo released was all the confirmation we needed.
Katy posted the photo via social media yesterday featuring a brand new bleach-blonde hair ‘do with the caption “new life who dis”, and if the trending hashtag #KatyIsComing wasn’t enough to further your confirmation, how ‘bout a Grammy announcement to seal the deal?
Not only is new music on the horizon for Katy, BUT the singer also made millions of wishes come true after retweeting the Recording Academy’s announcement via Twitter that she would be joining an already-EPIC list of artists, including Adele, Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, and The Weekend to name a few, who are set to perform at the 2017 Grammy Awards.
As for what Katy will sing, Billboard hinted at a possible title for a brand new track (meaning that they posted, and then quickly deleted it), called “Chained to the Rhythm” featuring Bob Marley’s grandson, Skip Marley, which is also set to be released as a single this Friday.
Katy recently promoted Skip’s new single “Lions” via social media over the weekend, so it looks like all these subtle hints are coming full circle. And if you’re curious as to what type of music Katy has cookin’ up, seeing that a collab with a Marley seems completely out of the ordinary ‘pop’ realm, Katy dropped a hint to In Style late last year that she’d been working with a variety of artists, saying, “I’m working with a lot of unexpected writers and producers and that’s bringing out a lot of different things sonically.”
It’s also been rumored that Katy is set to perform at the 2017 BRIT Awards on February 22nd when a source from The Sun revealed QUOTE, “She is looking likely to be this year’s blockbuster act. The ceremony needs a big US name and organizers are deep in negotiations with her team to get it over the line.”
Although the deal hasn’t been officially signed yet, things are already looking pretty promising for 2017 to be the year of Katy. Freaking. Perry.
