The Katy Perry Taylor Swift drama speculation can finally be put to rest because Katy will NOT be recording a song called 1984.
There was a rumor going around that Katy was planning to take a jab at T-Swift with a song called “1984” but thankfully the rumor has been debunked.
After buzz started swirling that Katy planned to fire back at Taylor with a song called 1984 to answer to Taylor’s 1989, Katy’s reps have now spoken out to put an end to the speculation telling Billboard QUOTE –“Katy Perry’s managers at Direct Management Group confirm that this story is completely false. Katy Perry was not involved in writing, singing, recording or registering this song.”
The root of the rumor started from the fact that many people believe that Taylor’s “Bad Blood” is about a past feud with Katy so by releasing a song called “1984” which is Katy’s birthday year, she would be throwing shade at Taylor’s 1989 album. Which I must say is quite clever of whoever came up with it.
But thankfully, all is well in the pop world because according to her reps, Katy has zero plans to throw any kind of shade at Taylor. Plus both Taylor and Katy are super into promoting girl power and uplifting other women so I couldn’t see Katy wanting to do something so petty given the monstrous success of Taylor’s album right now.
Way to keep it classy ladies.
