Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad has responded to the widespread criticism on his blog post on the situation in France.
Mahathir said that only one part of his post was highlighted and claimed that his views were misrepresented to portray him as encouraging violence.
Twitter and Facebook had also deleted the nonagenarian's posts, which came in the wake of an attacker with a knife killing at least three people and wounding several others at a church in the French city of Nice.
