Kylie Jenner Defends Spot On Time's Influential Teens List & Talks Lip Challenge

In case you missed this little tidbit of news, Kendall and Kylie Jenner have secured themselves a spot on Time’s Most Influential Teens list, buuut some, as you’d imagine, ain’t havin’ it.
Fashion goals, hair goals, LIFE GOALS, what do the Jenner sisters NOT influence in our lives nowadays?! Well, besides sucking on a shot glass to obtain big lips…. Ok, too far?
Whether or not you agree with this statement, Kylie Jenner is one of the biggest teen influences in the world. She’s a pop culture icon, a raging fashion mogul and now a connoisseur of the digital times with her brand new app… and yes, I understand that all opinions are your own.
BUT she’s now receiving her share of flack for being placed on Time’s Most Influential Teens list and what better way to influence young girls than by standing up for what she believes to be true. KJ spoke to Time after making the cut, defending her title, saying QUOTE, “I think people expect a lot out of me and my family. Whether we’re influential for one reason or another, it is what it is. I know how influential I am over my fans and followers.”
She followed up her statement by saying, “I feel like everything I do, my hair color, my makeup, I always start these huge trends, and I don’t even realize what I’m capable of. I didn’t care what people had to say; I didn’t even read any of that stuff. People might have been upset because we were next to young girls who started schools and crazy things. But we’re just different people! We’re influential in different ways, and that’s okay.”
Ok, so I think it’s about time to discuss what’s on all of your minds about now, Kylie’s influence on millions of teens trying out her infamous lip challenge and physically hurting themselves in the making. Kylie spoke out about the scandal, saying, “With the shot glasses thing, that wasn’t even my influence, because I didn’t ever pick up a shotglass; that was a trend before my name was attached to it. I went on social media and said I was not down for this, I don’t approve of this.”
And that’s when Kylie took a different approach a few months ago, and put her celebrity to good use, creating the social media driven #IAmMoreThan anti-bullying campaign, where she says she wants to help other boys and girls who are going through the same thing she is, so they can get through it together.
But most importantly, Kylie talks about how she feels comfortable in her own skin, saying, “I know I’m still young and finding myself, and I’m still growing up. And I’m doing it with my fans. We’re all trying to find ourselves, growing up and making mistakes and trying something different. But I’ll always want to have fun. That’s just my personality.
