Normani and Val kicked off the latest season of Dancing with the Stars with a little one two, quickstep.
The talented Fifth Harmony star dazzled the crowd with her quickstep and sparkling ensemble, but sadly her incredible performance didn’t get the score it deserved.
Dancing with the Stars kicked off their 24th season with an electrifying opening number from Normani and Val. The pair performed one of the hardest dances on the show. Normani and Val kicked off the season with the quickstep and while their performance was insanely incredible to those of us who aren’t dancing pros, the judges thought otherwise.
Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, Julianne Hough, and Bruno Tonioli all essentially praised Normani and Val for their number – except for Len who kinda threw in a criticism in his review – in the end, the duo received a 27 out of 40, which was a little disappointing to say the least.
Seriously, you guys? A 27 out of 40 for this?!
Even Normani’s bandmates thought she did extraordinary! Dinah Jane reacted to the singer’s performance with a sweet Instagram post. She wrote QUOTE, “WOWzers!! They absolutely killed it. Highkey had me teary eyed. You looked absolutely stunning ManManz. Dance was your first language and tonight the whole world witnessed your natural talent.”
Lauren wrote in all caps QUOTE, “My talented beautiful princess made headlines and slayed my life!! Normani, you are a legend! This girl has been working her ass off making sure she’s at every rehearsal and thing for #DWTS and is about to fly to Japan as well to do an Asian tour WHILE she does this. I’m so proud of you Normani and your incredible abilities. You inspire me so much and you’re so so freaking amazing!!”
While Dinah Jane and Lauren both gushed over Mani’s performance, Ally sent her bandmate and friend all the love before her big dance number. Ally wrote on Twitter QUOTE, “I’ll be there in spirit Mani Bear! You have my prayers & I know you’re going to be just STUNNING mama! So proud.”
Although Normani and Val’s score was a bit disappointing, all was well when Simone Biles and her partner Sasha Farber stepped on the dance floor. The couple blew everyone out of the water with their tango and received the highest score of the night.
