The eighth season of “American Horror Story” is still MONTHS away, but Ryan Murphy is spilling some new details that should hold you over for the time being.
This episode is brought to you by NHTSA reminding us that if you’re texting you’re not driving.
From Murder House to Freak Show, and everything in between, FX’s hit show “American Horror Story” is always pushing the boundaries, and it sounds like the upcoming eighth season is kind of going back to the show’s earlier roots -- Ryan Murphy-style, that is.
In a recent interview with Variety, the AHS-creator said the tone of the show will feel more like “Asylum” and “Coven,” the show’s second and third seasons, respectively, also adding it will feel more “fantasy-inspired.”
The show’s eighth season will star AHS vets Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, along with Kathy Bates, and Cheyenne Jackson. Billy Eichner and Leslie Grossman -- who made their AHS debut in the show’s seventh season “Cult,” -- will also return, and it was also recently announced that screen legend Joan Collins will make her AHS debut this season. Plus, Ryan Murphy also mentioned he’s been courting Anjelica Houston for a role as well. Damn, who ISN’T going to be part of season eight?!
While the show’s actual “title” hasn’t been announced, some fans have speculated that it could be “Radioactive.” But one thing we do know about the upcoming season? It will be set in the future -- 18 months from now to be exact.
Season eight of AHS is set to start filming in June, with a premiere sometime before Halloween.
Also, just a fair warning, Ryan Murphy has a mind of his own, so who knows when he’ll make the big announcement. Heck, by the time you’re watching this, he might have already dropped the big news.
