Sam Smith Calls Oscars Performance Worst Moment of His Life?

Uh oh, Sam Smith just announced his retirement? After his Oscar performance last night, the 23-year old just revealed some very upsetting news. Well, he was joking of course…. we hope.
Not only did Sam perform on stage last night, but he also took home an Oscar! So why is he telling everyone that it was the worst moment of his life?
Well, it all started with his performance of “Writing’s on the Wall.” Sam received some pretty hurtful comments from fans saying his singing was off tune…. Here, why don’t you be the judge
Sam even admitted it to the BBC saying, QUOTE: “It was the worst moment of my life. Singing was horrible. I hated every minute.”
Whoa there, that’s a little harsh. You just performed on stage in front of the World without missing a lyric. I’d say that’s an accomplishment.
He continued, joking, QUOTE: “it’s only downhill from here…I’m going to retire, I’m done with music!”
Okay, okay, he was joking, false alarm. But Sam’s drama for the night didn’t end there.
After winning an Oscar for Best Original Song, Sam dedicated his award to the LGBT community, then implied something that miiight have offended a few people. Actually one in particular, Dustin Lance Black.
Who is Dustin Lance Black? You might say. Well so did Sam, and that got him in A-LOT of trouble.
Dustin received an Academy Award back in 2009 and tweeted, QUOTE: “Hey Sam Smith, if you have no idea who I am, it may be time to stop texting my fiancé: Here’s a start”, referencing to his acceptance speech.
Well the drama continued back and forth until finally they came to a mutual understanding. Sam said his point was to shine some light on the LGBT community, and he’s sorry for the mix up. Plus, he was sure to let everyone know he’s feeling a little hung-over this morning.
Dustin congratulated Sam and told him to drink some water, but to also check out some of the other “gay Oscar” work out there.
Plus, Ian McKellen even responded saying that Sam misunderstood him from the beginning.
