Tori Kelly gives an incredible performance of Jeff Buckley’s ‘Hallelujah’ for the Emmy’s “In Memoriam”...
I’m not crying, you’re crying! Tori Kelly took everyone’s breath away during the “In Memoriam” tribute, thanks to her stunning voice and acoustic guitar skills…
The “In Memoriam” segment is already one of the most emotional parts of any awards show, but our girl Tori took the feels to a whole new level with her tear-jerking version of Jeff Buckley’s “Hallelujah”. You might wanna pause and grab some tissues before you watch this one…
Okay I’m impressed Tori didn’t make herself cry with that one! What a powerful tribute. This year veteran actor and director Henry Winkler introduced the “In Memoriam” video montage, which honored some of television and entertainment’s greatest losses from the past year, from Alan Rickman to David Bowie to Prince, as well as many more who left behind a huge void in the industry as well as our hearts. There’s obviously a lot of pressure to play live along with the “In Memoriam” slideshow, which would make any artist anxious, but Tori didn’t miss a beat and gave an absolutely flawless tribute worthy of everyone honored.
There’s no way there was a dry eye in the house after she finished, but as emotionally stunned as they probably were, the audience managed to stand up and give Tori and those honored in the segment a huge round of applause. When asked about how she felt the performance herself, Tori said QUOTE, “I tried not to look at the screen because that's where they are showing everybody, [but] I did catch Prince at the end ... I was like, 'Aw, dang it!' I'm going to try and keep my composure and pay my respect." We’re so impressed that Tori was able to keep her composure, but we can’t say we were able to do the same…Speaking of which, I’m pretty sure I’m going to be trapped in a glass case of emotion for at least a week after watching that.
Now before you get trapped in a glass case of emotion yourself, let me know what the most emotional part of the “In Memoriam” tribute was for you.
