Sorry, guys. Zayn Malik confirms he will NOT be collaborating with Selena Gomez on the upcoming Aladdin movie soundtrack.
At least the thought was fun while it lasted.
Earlier this week fans were freaking the heck out over a rumor that Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik were working on a duet that would appear on the upcoming Aladdin live-action movie soundtrack. While we were obviously pumped at the thought of a collab, we were still skeptical. You see, the only source of this information was a Selena Gomez fan Twitter account that wrote QUOTE “It is RUMORED that Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik are featured on a duet for the upcoming Disney movie Aladdin. Nothing has been confirmed by either of their teams.”
As much as we would’ve been SO on board for this collaboration to happen, unfortunately our hopes have been shot down before they really even picked up. A group of fans met the former One Direction singer recently and decided to ask him about the song directly.
One fan asked QUOTE “Is that Selena Gomez collab real?”
And he responded QUOTE “No it’s not, man.”
And there you have it, straight from the horse’s mouth.
While the Selena-Zayn duet rumors ended up having no validity, it wouldn’t have been that shocking if they ended up being true. Zayn worked with Selena’s BFF, Taylor Swift, to give the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” back in December 2016. He also joined forces with Sia on “Dusk Till Dawn,” which was used as the background of the Mountain Between Us movie trailer.
Not gonna lie, I’m a little bit bummed. Can you imagine how AMAZING a song by Zayn and Selena would be…especially if it was made with a Disney flick in mind? Maybe it’ll happen one day! Would you like to hear a collaboration between the two musicians? Tell us why or why not in the comments below and then click here to get all the details about the upcoming Riverdale musical episode. I’m your host Emile Ennis Jr. thanks so much for watching and I’ll see you next time.
