You know how everyone won't shut up about 13 reasons why? Well There's a reason for it.
That's right 13 reasons why was the most tweeted about Netflix show during it's first week of realease. Fizziology, a company that tracks and analyzes social media data counted over 3.5 Million tweets about the show. For some perspective, the second most tweeted show was Chasing Cameron, with only 1.3 million tweets in it's first week. So 13 reasons why has well over 2 times the amount of mentions. That is incredibly impressive, and we think the folks over at netflix are quite happy.
So why is this heavy Drama talked about so much? When it deals with topics like suicide, rape, and the allusion to a school shooting – it definitely generates a conversation – which is important. Talking about real issues is a fantastic way to find common ground with people you may not talk to or understand.
The cast must have known what they were getting themselves into when they started to shoot the series. In fact, the main cast all decided to get matching tattoos! The most recent actor to get inked was Brandon Flynn, he showed off his new ink on instagram just a few days after his co-stars Alisha Boe and Tommy Dorfman got their own with producer Selena Gomez.
He posted the photo of his semi-colon ink with the caption “as a pledge of love an hope for people who deal with suicidal thoughts, depression, addition, and self injury.... be the author of your own story and allow your story to continue because it could help others and change the world,”
