The pop star is taking on an a few new roles as she is set to star in AND executive produce the book-turned-Netflix miniseries ’13 Reasons Why.’
But really though, is there anything this girl can’t do? Variety has officially reported that Netflix is in final negotiations to turn the best-selling young adult novel into a miniseries starring none other than our girl Sel!
So if you haven’t read the story yet, don’t worry because I’m about to break it down for ya and I’ll do my best NOT to spoil anything. The story follows a boy by the name of Clay – who has yet to be casted – after he received a shoe box of cassette tapes from his crush Hannah, played by Selena, after she tragically commits suicide.
Hannah leaves tapes with instructions to give to each student. On the tapes, Hannah basically explains to her peers how each of them played a role in her death by giving them 13 reasons why she took her own life – hence the title of the novel, ’13 Reasons Why.’
Since Selena’s character technically isn’t around, it makes us wonder how often she’ll be showing her face throughout the series. Will it be like Gossip Girl where Selena will just partake in voice overs? Or will she return to haunt us as a spirit. SO MANY QUESTIONS, but we’re just gonna have to wait to find out.
