In honor of WeDay, Selena Gomez stepped out as this year’s host and discussed what the event means to her and standing by 13 Reasons Why despite the backlash. Selena hosted We Dat at The Forum in Inglewood, CA yesterday which is a worldwide charity movement that strives to help communities come up with sustainable solutions to big problems such as bullying, poverty, and access to clean water. The event brings together a wide variety of students, speakers, and A-listers to celebrate the work of volunteers and yesterday’s event was jam packed with familiar faces. Amongst Paula Abdul, Laverne Cox, Jessie J, Alicia Keys, DJ Khaled, and Demi Lovato were all in attendance.
As well as Selena who spoke about the importance of WeDay telling E! why she fell in love with the event in the first place.
Selena also dished about 13 Reasons Why and believing in the show’s message.
In addition to Selena showing her support for a good cause, can we talk about her outfit changes? There were three of them. She walked the carpet in a fun two piece pant suit that fit her to a crisp complete with an off the shoulder style and large button details. Then she went chic casual with a simple top and jeans for the stage followed by rocking one of the coolest jackets I’ve ever seen that looked like my imagination had thrown up on a leather blue cloud.
