Selena Gomez Sings on the soundtrack for ‘13 Reasons Why’--find out what song she covers for the show, plus the reviews are in and we’ve got the highlights!
We’re just two days away from binge-watching ‘13 Reasons Why’, but after hearing Selena’s song AND the reviews for the show--that’s 2 days too long!
Selena took to twitter to give fans a tease of her song for the ‘13 Reasons Why’ soundtrack, accompanied with a little montage of the two main characters’ love story. The song is a cover of “Only You” by Yazoo, so 80s fans will definitely recognize the hauntingly romantic track...
Talk about FEELS! I just wanna take this this song and video and wrap it around me like a blanket, but I guess I’ll just settle for downloading the soundtrack and binge watching the show on Netflix when it drops this week.
That being said, if this musical montage isn’t enough to get YOU excited for ‘13 Reasons Why’ to come out this week, then allow all of the incredible reviews of the show to get you on my level...
The Hollywood Reporter’s review read in part QUOTE, “Netflix's teen suicide drama tackles its touchy subject in a thoughtful and interesting way”. Meanwhile Mashable also gave the show rave reviews, writing QUOTE, “Based on the 2007 novel by Jay Asher, 13 Reasons Why is in turns raw, angry, bitter and desperate...It's also beautifully shot and painstakingly acted, creating a three-dimensional world of pervasive grief and the path to resilience.”
Elle Magazine also praised ‘13 Reasons Why’ and its actors, particularly newcomer Katherine Langford, who plays the show’s protagonist, Hannah Baker. Elle wrote of her performance QUOTE, “Langford is the luminous center of all this, and there's something approaching extraordinary in how she comes across as both a wry, old-souled observer of the human comedy and a deeply troubled girl who is led to self-destruction by a perfectly ill-timed maelstrom of events.”
Hot damn! With reviews like that, let’s hope Selena Gomez starts wearing the producer hat more often!
