2016 Golden Globe Nominations: Snubs, Surprises & Stars' Reactions!

The nominees for the Golden Globe Awards were announced early Thursday morning and we were there on the scene to get you all the inside details. The film “Carol” starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, leads overall with five Golden Globes nominations. Other highly nominated films include “The Big Short,” “The Revenant” and “Steve Jobs,” each with four noms.
“American Crime,” “Fargo,” “Mr.Robot,” “Outlander,” “Transparent” and “Wolf Hall” all lead the TV show categories with three nominations. “Empire,” “Orange is the New Black” and “Game of Thrones” are just a few other ensemble shows that received noms in the drama and comedy series categories.
And with nominations being announced, comes the priceless celebrity reactions to the career-changing news!
Musical queen turned actress Lady Gaga received a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for her role in ‘American Horror Story: Hotel.’
Gaga tweeted - “I apologize to my neighbors I’m still screaming in my apt in NY! I’M nominated as an actress for a Golden Globe what a dream is this real life!”
Two of our faves Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer might be gal pals who hang out IRL, but they’re now also both nominees for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy for their films “Joy” and “Trainwreck.” Additionally, both movies are nominated for Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.
When Amy found out the news, she took to Twitter to share a funny TBT saying QUOTE - “Me with my first globe predicting this moment #tbt Holy hell! Thank you Hollywood foreign press! This is a dream.”
Amy’s “Trainwreck” co-star Brie Larson received a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama for her role in “Room.” She spoke to the “Today” show about her reaction.
As far as snubs, both “Suffragette” and “Straight Out of Compton” didn’t receive any nominations. And while Slyvester Stalone received a surprise nomination for his role in “Creed,” his co-star Michael B. Jordan was not recognized.
