The Grammy nominations are in, and all the celebs are taking to social media to let us know how they really feel…
Meghan Trainor read off the list of nominees for the 2017 Grammy awards this morning, and per usual there were surprises, there were snubs, and of course--there were tweets.
Best New Artist nominee and country cutie Kelsea Ballerini tweeted QUOTE, "Oh my god. MOM IM GOING TO THE GRAMMYS”, which is the perfect response to a first-time grammy nom.
Meanwhile seasoned pop artist Demi Lovato was also thrilled to nab her first ever nomination in the Best Pop Vocal Album category for ‘Confident’. She wrote QUOTE, “Woke up to the most amazing news EVER!!!!!!! Wow... thank you SO MUCH to @RecordingAcad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” followed by a crying emoji. Her BFF and tour partner Nick Jonas also took to twitter to congratulate Demi, despite being snubbed himself. #ThrowSomeBaconOnIt
“Panda” rapper Desiigner was nominated for Best Rap performance and humbly thanked the academy by writing “OHHH SH** OHHH SH**” in all caps, followed by a series of hashtags, including #BLESSED #HUMBLED and #YOUDiiG, in true rapper form.
The Chainsmokers had an equally excited yet hilarious response to the news of their own nominations. After tweeting their gratitude and genuine surprise over hearing that they received nods for Best New Artist AND Best Pop Duo-slash-Group Performance for “Closer”, AND Best Dance Recording for “Don’t Let Me Down”, the guys let fans know exactly how they celebrated right when they found out, tweeting QUOTE, “We were in line at dunkin donuts and high fived everyone in the store.” The only thing that would have made that better is if they’d bought everyone in line donuts, but maybe they’re saving that for when they win.
But the best response by far had to be Ariana Grande, who simply wrote on her twitter account QUOTE, “my heart is falling out of my ass”, in response to her Grammy Nods for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo performance for “Dangerous Woman”. As long as her heart doesn’t literally fall out of her ass in the next few weeks, I’d say 2016 has been Ari’s best year yet.
