Ariana Grande uses her social media platform to fight back against body shamers.
Ariana Grande is busy touring, singing, writing music, and promoting her fragrance…she does not have time for body shamers and she made that very clear.
Someone left an insensitive Instagram comment on her page comparing her body to Modern Family Actress Ariel Winter’s body, which said “Got asked if I'd prefer @arielwinter1 or @ArianaGrande lol, it wud [sic] DEFINITELY be @arielwinter1 curves are sexy sticks aren't,"
The 22-year-old pop star posted a screen shot of it on Monday, and shut down the negativity QUICKLY writing:
"here we go again ... Sure I'm not the only 1 feeling this way today!! In case you need a reminder, you're beautiful."
She continued writing a thoughtful message saying “Sigh…. tweets, comments, statements like this are not okay. About anyone!!!” “We live in a day and age where people make it IMPOSSIBLE for women, men, anyone to embrace themselves exactly how they are. Diversity is sexy! Loving yourself is sexy! You know what is NOT sexy? Misogyny, objectifying, labeling, comparing and body shaming!!!”
She continued her disapproval and ended writing “LOVE LOVE LOVE ONLY.”
The tweet currently has over 23,000 retweets and 33,000 favorites, so there are a lot of people out there in agreement with Ariana…one of them is Ariel Winter. The 17
17-year-old saw Grande’s response and reposted the image herself writing
“Thank you @arianagrande for posting this Instagram. I especially believe in today’s world we all need to stick together…You ARE beautiful.”
Ariana definitely has a message of empowerment for the world. In a recent interview with Los Angeles’ Power 106 FM, she called two radio DJs out for their sexist questions about unicorn emojis, cellphones, and makeup.
