Beyonce & Kendrick Lamar Open 2016 BET Awards With Epic Surprise "Freedom" Performance

The BET Awards were over the moment Beyonce set foot on the stage because how does a show really go on after Yonce opens it with an incredible performance?
It’s safe to say audience members and viewers alike were surprised when Beyonce – and later Kendrick – stepped out on stage at the beginning of the award show to perform a powerful rendition of their joint track, ‘Freedom.’ In a very Queen B-like move, the singer opened up her performance with a line of dancers making their way down the walkway before she and a few others made their appearance on stage in a huge pool of water.
While Beyonce sounded amazing during the song, naturally, the singer wowed the crowd when she put her mic aside and engaged in an epic dance break with the rest of her dancers.
But of course, the performance wasn’t complete without an appearance from Kendrick. The rapper emerged from the floor and dropped a couple of verses before he joined Beyonce and her dancers in the pool of water.
The two ended their performance with a few powerful stomps in the water before ending their performance in a united front.
Sadly, Yonce did not stick around to catch the tribute to Prince or to watch the rest of the show after her incredible performance. Tina revealed on stage after accepting Beyonce’s Video of the Year award on her behalf that the singer left shortly after her opening performance and hopped on a plane headed to London for her concert.
