Good news, Harmonizers! Despite going on hiatus, it looks like the members of Fifth Harmony are still really great friends!
Well, that’s a relief!
As many of you already know by now, Fifth Harmony put out a statement just yesterday announcing that after six years of success together as a group, they are going on hiatus so that they can each pursue their own solo endeavors.
The statement said, QUOTE, “Reflecting on the past six years since we started on X-Factor, we’ve realized just how far we’ve come and we appreciate everything so much, more now than ever. We’ve really had one hell of a memorable journey together and can’t begin to express our gratitude to y’all for coming along with us on this wild ride!”
Obviously, this statement left fans with loads of questions, including whether or not the girls are still friends, or if they had any sort of falling out. Don’t worry, though, because apparently, things are just fine and Lauren, Normani, Dinah and Ally all remain the best of friends. In fact, a source close to Fifth Harmony told Variety that there was, QUOTE, “no disharmony” between the girls when it came to making this decision.
Although we probably could’ve all seen this coming, considering the girls have all gone on to do side projects in one way or another, it still came as quite a shock to the group’s diehard fans, who were hoping they’d stay together forever. And, do you want to know who was among those diehards? None other than Sam Smith!
That’s right! Just like us, Sam is totally freaking out over the news of the hiatus, and he’s openly expressed his grief about it on Twitter. Sam wrote, QUOTE, “FIFTH HARMONY!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Luckily, Harmonizers always stick together, so other fans of the group were quick to write back offering their support, even suggesting that they should reflect on the last six years by listening to all of Fifth Harmony’s music together. So sweet!
