Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui faces backlash after she SLAMS Super Bowl fans!
It seems Lauren had a different kind of fighting spirit on Super Bowl Sunday.
Yesterday celebrities and fans everywhere enjoyed a day long celebration of football, a welcomed interruption from our daily political headlines. But Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui wasn’t having it. The singer outraged fans when she tweeted, “#ignoranceisbliss go ahead and stay distracted”.
The tweet included a link to Instagram where she bashed Super Bowl fans for succumbing to the distraction. Lauren wrote in part QUOTE, “You know what I find annoying? The fact that our country is being overtaken by a Fascist Dictator and that people would rather feel comfortable and complacent and cry over a team won being sacked and hit and knocked to the ground on their way to an end zone over a ball.” Fans dragged Lauren on Twitter for taking the game a little too seriously.
One fan chimed in saying, “why does @LaurenJauregui try to act like she's smarter than everyone else yet she only discovered Jill Stein a week before the election”. Shortly after the backlash Lauren deleted the post and replaced it with an apology letter writing, “So I apologize for the amount of people that I offended, I’m incredibly sad every day for this country and I get too passionate sometimes.”
While Lauren was protesting the game, her bandmate Normani Kordei was enjoying the event firsthand. Normani was seen walking the red carpet at Taylor Swift’s Super Saturday Night concert the night before the Super Bowl.
Harmonizers, we gotta know what you think of Lauren’s powerful message! Do you support Lauren voicing her opinion or do you think she went to far bashing the Super Bowl? Leave your comments below! I’m your host Vivian Fabiola I’ll catch you later.
