Ian Somerhalder Has HOPE For Damon & Elena on "The Vampire Diairies"

Ian Somerhalder is going on the record to say he still has hopes that things will work out for him and Nina Dobrev – but before you start getting too crazy – he’s talking about the characters they play on TV and not real life. Okay, so my girl Robin Ross over at TV Guide caught up with Ian to ask him and team Delena saying QUOTE “Things are finally good between Damon and Elena. Will it last?” To which he answered by saying “I don’t think that’s absolutely going to happen but I think they’re trying. The situation is very intense and it’s hard. But you definitely see [him putting in effort] and you don’t always see that side of him. So, that’s cool.” Damon is putting in some hard work for his relationship with Elena guys. But I’m still totally hung up on the fact that he said “I don’t think that’s absolutely going to happen.” So does this mean that we should just give up on Elena and Damon being together in the long run? It seems like the door is definitely definitely closed for her and Stefan, so now I’m just wondering if when all is said and done on the Vampire Diaries, everyone will be single and the brothers Salvatorre will just be best friends finally – that’s a relationship I think will last. Another male-female relationship we can look forward to on TVD is going to be the one between Damon, Stefan and their MOM! Yep, cuz that’s happening guys. And it’s going to be dramatic for Damon, with Ian revealing that QUOTE “his mother abandoned him and didn’t love him. That’s a gnarly thing….it’s a brutal thing for him to go through and he’s going to have to figure it out.” And so are we! Okay – now I have questions.
