Lady Gaga gives her first surprise performance of “Perfect Illusion”, plus the star reveals how fame totally traumatized her.
Lady Gaga just gave one very lucky little crowd the best surprise ever: the first live performance of her latest single, “Perfect Illusion”.
Lady Gaga surprised a small group of fans when she took to the stage at the Moth Club in London to belt out her newest rock-and-pop dance anthem, aaaand no surprise--she killed it!
That club is almost too small to handle the power that is Lady Gaga’s incredible vocals. But rather than tone down her performance for the intimate space, she gave the lucky crowd everything she’s got--including some serious underboob. I didn’t even know crop tops could BE that cropped, but trust Lady Gaga to start a trend that gets all of us taping our nipples and cutting our cut-offs even shorter…
Work it girl...In addition to playing her first live performance of Perfect Illusion in London, Gaga also opened up to English newspaper The Mirror, where she confessed to feeling "traumatized" after her skyrocket to fame. She explained how she dealt with those feelings by taking some time off and seeking medical help, saying QUOTE, "I needed a moment to stabilize. When my career took off, I don't remember anything at all. It's like I'm traumatized. I needed time to re-calibrate my soul."
She also discussed her struggles with anxiety and depression, sharing QUOTE, "I take medication. I'm not saying I feel good because of the medication - I wouldn't encourage young people to take anti-depressants or mood stabilizers…I openly admit to having battled depression and anxiety and I think a lot of people do. I think it's better when we all say: ‘Cheers!' And ‘fess up to it."
We couldn’t agree with her more! Despite her personal struggles, including her split from fiancé Taylor Kinney, Gaga told the paper that she’s currently feeling good, and is genuinely glad to be 30.
Well if anyone deserves to be feeling good and enjoying herself, it’s Mother Monster. And we’re so grateful that she’s taking care of herself because we might not get amazing songs like “Perfect Illusion” if she wasn’t. But now I wanna know what you guys think of Lady Gaga’s live performance, and what do you think about that uber-candid interview?
