Word on the street is that Lauren Jauregui is close to signing a record deal and we could not be more excited.
Get ready, ‘cause more solo music from Lauren Jauregui is most likely coming soon.
Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei signed a solo management deal back in October 2017 and it appears that Lauren Jauregui is looking to do something similar. According to Billboard, the 21-year-old is on the cusp of signing a solo record deal with Columbia Records, allowing her to release her own music with no strings attached.
The site reported the news last night as one of its employees overheard a conversation about the deal while at a Grammys after party. The source said QUOTE “12:37 a.m. Overheard at Sony’s party at the Whitney: Lauren Jauregui of 5H moving to Columbia from Epic to release solo album.”
Lauren has dabbled in her own musical ventures over the past several months, all while still very much being a part of Fifth Harmony. She was featured on Halsey’s iconic LGBTQ+ anthem, “Strangers,” and most recently teamed up with DJ Steve Aoki to create “All Night.”
Every time one of the 5H girls does something without her bandmates by her side, however, breakup rumors begin running rampant. Lauren shot down this speculation just last month by telling ET Online QUOTE, “We’re at such an amazing place harmoniously with each other with communication and support for one another. We’ve grown so much over the past year even, and I love genuinely being able to explore myself and know that my girls are there for me.”
But just because she is still incredibly dedicated to Fifth Harmony doesn’t mean she doesn’t have solo ambitions.
She said when asked if she hopes to be a solo artist one day QUOTE “Of course. I mean, I think we all do. That’s the dream, of course, to be able to express self and to create. That’s all I’ve ever wanted. Right now I’m super focused on the group, but I’ve been writing and always will write. That’s what I do.”
Nothing is confirmed at this point, but I definitely wouldn’t be opposed to hearing more solo Lauren in the near future. She’s just so talented, you know?
