Lili Reinhart has apologized after coming under fire for an insensitive halloween costume photo she tweeted out on Saturday.

Wouldn’t be the first time a celebrity has gotten in trouble over a tweet.
The Riverdale star tweeted a photo of what appeared to be a woman dressed up like a “demon” in a black bodysuit and black facepaint on her face and hands.
It was captioned QUOTE, “Found my Halloween costume!! Inspired by the color of my soul”
People were quick to accuse her of wanting to do blackface as a costume.
One person tweeted QUOTE, “the act of painting yourself black connotes blackface, regardless of intent or context. can be read as poc = witch/demon ”
While another defended her and said QUOTE, “I'm half-black & I see NOTHING WRONG with what you posted. That's NOT blackface. That was a demon halloween costume. People are being extra.”
She then deleted it and tweeted an apology QUOTE, “I did not mean for my tweet to come off that way. I can see how it was interpreted as being insensitive, completely. I saw the pic on a Halloween Instagram and didn't think it would be interpreted as being racially insensitive. I apologize. Never meant any harm. I can see how it could've been misinterpreted.”
