Shawn Mendes finally reveals the real reason why he’s been single for so long...
It’s obviously because he hasn’t met me yet.
Shawn Mendes recently opened up to Variety about his whirlwind career, mysterious personal life, and the most embarrassing moment of his life.
At one point in the interview, Shawn was asked about his bachelor status, and he did not hesitate to explain why he’s single these days. He revealed QUOTE, “I’m not currently dating anyone, but it’s not because I don’t have time — I don’t know if I’d be dating anyone if I was home in Pickering, either...It hasn’t stumbled across me, and I’m not chasing it. Of course, seeing all those other artists and people in relationships, you think, ‘Maybe it would be nice; who would be great for me?’ And that’s when you realize: ‘This is wrong. Let it be. I’m not supposed to be with anyone right now.’”
Do you guys think he KNOWS how much hotter he is when he gives thoughtful answers like that? Probably not, because in addition to being perfect he’s also modest.
Shawn also opened up about the most embarrassing moment of his career thus far, when he completely ate it while trying to dramatically jump from the stage during a show in Quebec back in July...

OUCH -- and I mean that both literally and figuratively. Shawn said of the painfully awkward moment QUOTE, “I fell on my ass in front of 80,000 people...I was excited and I didn’t see how high I was jumping from, and Dave Grohl was on the side of the stage, watching..It was...amazing.”
Amazing is definitely one way to put it, and we’re so glad that Shawn can have a sense of humor about it because let’s face it -- most of us would’ve changed our names and moved to Sweden after experiencing something like that.
