Shawn Mendes Drops New Single 'In My Blood'

It’s been almost a full year since we have gotten new music from Shawn Mendes, but thankfully that all changed today when his new single “In My Blood” dropped at midnight. This is the first single off of his upcoming untitled third album and we’re already expecting it to be the best one yet.
Shawn has been noticeably quiet on social media for the past few months as he finalized his album, and although we have missed his witty humor we know that it will all be worth it. We first got news that we were actually getting new music when Shawn posted a photo to Instagram of himself on a billboard with the words ‘Coming Soon’.
Thankfully soon was truly SOON and “In My Blood” is currently available to stream and download. Hours before the song was released, Shawn took to social media to share his thoughts on the writing process and it honestly makes us love him even more. In the post, Shawn wrote about how excited his is for everyone to hear the music and that “In My Blood” is QUOTE “the closest song to my heart I’ve ever written”.
That’s a pretty bold statement to make but we’re currently listening to the tune for the 50th time today and we have to agree with him. The song still has Shawn’s signature catchy chorus and beautiful belts, but there is so much emotion and power behind it that we may or may not have gotten a little teary-eyed the first time we heard it.
Along with the song announcement, Shawn also posted saying that something else would be released on March 24 and we’re crossing our fingers that by this time tomorrow we’ll have a music video or an album name!
