Shawn Mendez is set to perform at the 2016 People Choice Awards and we’ve got the details right now on Clevver’s Trophy Life!
Shawn received his first People’s Choice Award nomination THIS year, and now he’s now set to perform at the big show come January 6th. The ‘Stiches’ singer who’s nominated for favorite breakout artist is also the FIRST performer to be announced for the show that will air live at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles come January! The show will be hosted by Jane Lynch who will award trophy’s to our favorite stars from film, television, music AND the digital world.
The CEO of the PCA’s had nothing but nice things to say about Shawn when announcing he’d be preforming, saying QUOTE: "Shawn is such an incredibly talented artist and we are looking forward to having him perform at our show," says executive producer Mark Burnett. "He is a huge fan favorite and that is what our show is really all about, the fans."
He re-tweeted this Shawn Access account saying “We can't wait @ShawnMendes performing on @peopleschoice Jan 6th 9PM EST! Maybe some surprises too”
And it’s coming at the perfect time seeing that Shawn’s hit Stiches just hit triple platinum! If you’re anything like me, you still aren’t sick of the song even though we hear it on the radio 500 times a day…
His success story is a crazy one, from Vine star to singing sensation… Seeing that now most people don’t even associate him with the Vine platform in where he started!
