And not only did she make the cut out of thousands of worthy artists, BUT she was also slated as the youngest artist on the entire list… CLAPS FOR TAY.
So if you’ve been living under a rock for the past year and were not aware of this minor factoid, Taylor was born in 1989, which, as previously stated makes her the youngest person to make the cut for Billboard’s Greatest Songwriters of All Time.
But this doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering the girl has written songs since she could barely speak, and has enough No. 1 hits to last her a lifetime. As the Billboard article stated, Taylor would welcome crowds during her Red Tour by saying, QUOTE, “Hi, I’m Taylor. I write songs about my feelings. I’m told I have a lot of feelings,” which is probably the understatement of the year, considering she’s gotten me through my fair share of breakups, friendships, first loves and turning 22. DUH.
And it wasn’t until recently when her adorable country sound took complete 180 into the magical world of the upbeat pop genre that 1989 has been so graciously welcomed into. But of course, going back to the main reason why T-Swift is on this list, because no matter what genre she resides in, her lyrics somehow seem to capture every emotion whether it’s songs like “Our Song,” “All Too Well,” or even “Clean.”
So what’s next for Tay, you may wonder? Well, Mean Girl Cady Heron summed it up perfectly when she says:
