2015 People’s Choice Awards Winners Recap

Well, the first awards show of 2015 is officially wrapped, and Clevver’s Trophy Life has got your FULL winners recap.
That’s right, the People’s Choice Awards went down in LA on Wednesday night, and some of the biggest stars were honored with trophies given by the fans, so we’re sure you’re wondering WHO won, exactly? Wonder no more, because we’re breaking down all the winners just for you.
Let’s get started.
The first award of the night went to Melissa McCarthy for Favorite Comedic Movie Actress thanks to her portrayal in the hilarious movie Tammy. And as for Favorite Comedic Movie Actor, Adam Sandler was victorious for the movie Blended, which was his NINTH time winning that particular award. No big deal.
Moving along to music, Iggy Azalea beat out Nicki Minaj, Jay Z, and Drake – among others – to win Favorite Hip Hop Artist, while on the flip side, Favorite Male Country Artist went to the ever so adorable Hunter Hayes.
Ellen DeGeneres was on hand to pick up her statue for Favorite Daytime TV Host, which was her 15h year winning the honor. Well deserved, if we do say so ourselves. Speaking of well deserved awards, Betty White won the very fitting Favorite TV Icon, as she was victorious over other stars such as Tim Allen and Katey Sagal. Shout out to Chris Evans who helped Betty walk to the stage when she won.
And hey, whaddya know! Chris Evans also won, but for Favorite Action Movie Actor. Another dreamy actor who won during the night’s festivities was Matt Bomer who picked up a trophy for Favorite Cable TV Actor.
Another TV award went to Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting who won for Favorite Comedic TV Actress for the second year in a row! Lady Antebellum – who performed earlier in the evening – beat out Rascall Flatts, The Band Perry, and a few others to win Favorite Country Group.
And the night was given a huge A-List boost when Ben Affleck won a special award for Favorite Humanitarian, which was presented to him by his Batman vs. Superman co-star Amy Adams.
The category for Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress was VERY stiff competition as Shailene Woodley, Reese Witherspoon, Meryl Streep, and Emma Stone were all nominated, but Chloe Grace Moretz was victorious.
It was a very good night for Shonda Rimes because not only did Grey’s Anatomy win for Favorite Network Drama but Viola Davis also won for Favorite Actress in a New TV Series thanks to her brilliant turn in How to Get Away With Murder. All hail Shonda, ya’ll!
Rounding out the night’s winners include Robert Downey Jr who won for Favorite Movie Actor for the fourth time! And as expected, his acceptance speech was just the right amount of heartwarming and hilarious as he quoted his two year old son. Too cute.
The night’s final award went to none other than The Big Bang Theory for Favorite TV Show, so big congrats to them! And all the other winners, of course.
Now there are a TON more categories, but these were just the ones they handed out during the actual show. However, some other celebs who won trophies include Jennifer Lawrence and Taylor Swift. Plus The Fault In Our Stars got some much deserved love as well.
