Taylor Swift Releases ENTIRE Catalog Of Music On Spotify On Katy Perry's Album Release Day

Timing is everything my friends. Last night Katy Perry dropped her long awaited 5th album titled “Witness”. And when the album dropped at midnight fans witnessed something else interesting happen on Spotify. Like magic, Taylor Swift’s entire collection of music was made available on Spotify for the first time ever. In addition all five of Mama Swift’s album were available to stream on Tidal, Amazon, and Pandora. Nope, we’re not done yet. Taylor’s music also appeared to be discounted on iTunes featuring lower prices than normal.
Many couldn’t help but question the all-too-perfect timing of this re-release from Taylor. Fans speculated that this is Taylor’s way of hitting back at Katy for the tea she spilled on Carpool Karaoke. So is this a coincidence or a shady gesture? It’s possible Taylor knew that dropping all her music online while she’s in hiding would take attention away from Katy’s big release day. And you know what? It’s kind working.
If you recall, Taylor famously feuded with Spotify after the release of her “1989” album saying the platform devalued her music. It seems TayTay has had a change of heart. In a statement Taylor’s rep explained quote, “In celebration of 1989 selling over 10 million albums worldwide and the RIAA’s 100 Million Song Certification announcement, Taylor wants to thank her fans by making her entire back catalog available to all streaming services…”
