Earlier this year, Zayn Malik was forced to reveal a very personal struggle after failing to show up for more than one scheduled concert, most notably, his headlining performance at London’s Capital Summertime Ball back in June. He shared with his fans across the world that he was battling very serious anxiety, something that continues to be a major issue for the singer.
Zayn has cancelled another performance, this time at the Autism Rocks Arena in Dubai, scheduled for for October 7th. Along with the notice of cancellation, Zayn addressed his disappointed fans saying QUOTE “I have been working over the last three months to overcome my extreme anxiety around major live solo performances I feel I am making progress but I have today acknowledged that I do not feel sufficiently confident to move forward with the planned show in Dubai in October.”
And while everyone who purchased a ticket is guaranteed to get their money back, Zayn understand that he’s letting a lot of people down, concluding his message with QUOTE “I am truly sorry to disappoint you. I hope to see you all soon. Thank you to all my fans who support me globally. With love and respect always, Zayn.”
It’s not the first time Zayn has chosen to address his issues publicly. After missing his headlining performance at London’s Capital Summertime Ball, Zayn took to Twitter, revealing, QUOTE “Unfortunately, my anxiety that has haunted me throughout the last few months around live performances has gotten the better of me.”
And I really can’t imagine that Zayn had any intentions of continuing to cancel his performances, but it seems that that “haunting” anxiety is still something Zayn is working through, and we send our love and good thoughts to him.
Now at the end of the day, Zayn’s fans do want what’s best for him and for his health, but I gotta know what you guys think about Zayn’s cancelled concert?
