It’s been a BIG year for Ariana Grande, and it looks like things won’t be slowing down any time soon. Hey there, you’re back at Clevver’s Trophy Life where we’re talking all things 2014 MTV VMAs, including Ariana’s big win for Best Pop Video. Let’s take another look.
The 21-year-old songstress won her very first moon man for her retro-themed “Problem” video, beating out other massive artists like Pharrell, John Legend, Jason DeRulo, and Iggy Azalea – her collab partner on “Problem” who she obviously thanked.
Anyways, Ariana was clearly shocked when she won, and on her way to the stage to accept her award, she hugged Scooter Braun and Miley Cyrus, in addition to getting a little high five hand shake thing from Katy Perry. She also had quite the surprised look on her face – almost like she was channeling Taylor Swift and her many “OMG I CAN’T BELIEVE I WON” faces.
Another cute moment came from the fact that Jim Carrey presented her with the award, and if you’re a big Ariana fan, you know she’s a huge fan of his. And Ariana made that completely clear when she told him she loved him right after getting the moon man from the Dumb and Dumber actor. She totally fangirled – we love it!
She also thanked her fans, MTV, her record label, and also made sure to give a quick plug to her sophomore album My Everything – which drops on August 25, OBVI. You know we’ll be picking up a copy.
Alright guys, what do YOU think of Ariana’s win? Was it well deserved? Or were you maybe rooting for someone else? It’s ok if you were, no judgment.
