The Weeknd Remained By Selena Gomez's Side During Kidney Failure In May

Everyone is sending Selena Gomez extra love, prayers, and virtual hugs today after she posted photos on Instagram with her best friend Francia Raisa in matching hospital gowns. In the caption she revealed that the reason why she was laying low and not promoting her new music was that she found out she needed a kidney transplant because of her Lupus and just needed some time to recover.
According to TMZ, Selena was in Chicago back in May attending her boyfriend The Weeknd’s concert. This is not out of the ordinary though. She’s traveled with her man before and supported him during his concerts and performances. However this time was a little different because during her time in Chicago she was rushed to the hospital because of kidney failure. Thankfully she was in Chicago with Abel because he was right there by her side to support her through it all.
Doesn’t this just warm your heart? You know what they say, “The only people worthy to be in your life are the ones that help you through the hard times and laugh with you after the hard times pass.” It’s safe to say that when it comes to Selena and Abel, the laughs come easily. The two have been spotted all over New York City having date nights, walking red carpets, and even crashing a couple’s wedding photo shoot. They’re pretty much inseparable and spending a lot of time together, but when you are two of the biggest celebs in the world, you have to cherish all the time you have together. If reports are correct, they will definitely be spending more time together because they just moved in together! Of course they both have separate houses in LA, but Selena is one of the stars in Woody Allen’s new film and will be in New York City while she’s shooting. A source told ET that the couple has temporarily moved into a low-rise luxury building in the heart of the Greenwich Village! Even if this is only temporary, this is a big step for these two. The Weeknd is currently on tour, so he won’t be there all the time, but we know that he will always be there for Selena when she needs him.
