Selena Gomez speaks out about WHY she’s been so open about her uncomfortable health struggles.
Leave it to Selena Gomez to turn a year of struggling with Lupus into a year of positive change.
Billboard has honored Selena Gomez with their Woman of the Year award as part of their annual “Women in Music” event. Selena Gomez sat down with Billboard to talk about her health issues this year and why she’s proud to be a women in the music music industry right now.
“I think the women have really defined their voices and I feel most comfortable because i see all the women i look up to feeling comfrotable enough to talk about the struggles or things they’ve gone through.”
Selena goes on to explain that she feels confident talking about her health due to the the positive change women have made in the industry. Selena explains QUOTE, “Even if it’s uncomfortable talking about a lot of stuff, I dunno, I feel like I can make a positive impact sharing my story.” It’s clear that using her platform for good is what Selena is really passionate about.
“I think it’s such an important time where people can say what they feel and know that their platforms are used for something great im so proud and happy to be part of the industry while it is changing this way.”
